Every story you have read in this booklet is true and would not be possible if it were not for the "Seminario Bautista Independiente del Sur" or the Peruvian Bible College. Each student comes to us because he believes that God wants to use him in a special way. He comes recommended by his pastor. He will give the next four years of his life to study the Bible from 8:30 am to 2 pm. After classes he will then spend his afternoon and evening involved in the work of the ministry. He will work in the Hunter Baptist Church or in one of the other churches in Arequipa pastored by one of our missionaries or an experienced Peruvian pastor. They not only need the "book learning" but the actual hands on experience of doing the ministry in a one on one relationship with the missionary.

The studies are difficult and the work load hard but up until now each of our graduates has been able to say "I am now the pastor of such and such church." This is how our ministry has been able to reach so many people.

In Peru where we are in such an economic crises the majority of our students come from very poor families. Many have been thrown out because they decided to be saved and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Since we started I have personally paid the rent on a house for the dorm students and also paid the food bill for them. We charge them what they can pay but it is only symbolic. Each student cost approximately $50 per month for four years. I could pay everything back when we had only a few students but now we have grown and I can no longer keep up. You could help by giving monthly support to the Peru Bible College. Each year we turn down students who want to come because I can't afford to pay it all. Pray about helping us train students. When they finish their studies I will then help them to start a new Independent Baptist Church. The students are the key to an ever expanding ministry.

The other need we have is to build on the land that God has given us. In 1990 God gave us 13 acres of land on the outskirts of Arequipa. Pray that God will open doors for us to build on the land.
